For the last eight years, Jean-Daniel Bartl has been the chemist behind many of our Meder formulas. He has created over 2,000 cosmetic products and trained more than 5,000 professionals. But eight years ago, working sixteen-hour days on four hours of sleep, he ended up in a hospital emergency room with a heart issue, and everything changed.

In this conversation, we talk about what really happens inside a cosmetic lab, why he compares formulation to being a Michelin-starred chef, and how that hospital bed became the beginning of his longevity mission. Jean-Daniel shares his five levels of energy (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and light) and explains why the pillar people most often neglect is different for every single person. We also get delightfully nerdy about ingredients, chronobiology, photobiomodulation, and the quantum chemistry behind why plant molecules speak so fluently to human skin. And we end on the line I keep thinking about: the fountain of youth may not exist, but the fountain of energy does.
